Treatment

Treatment for my Music Video
The song that I have chosen for my music video is ‘Saint Era’ by Candle Light. I found them on a unsigned website. I chose this song after many hours of deliberating and making a short list. I chose this because it was memorable; something that I could imagine visuals with and a fast flowing beat.
I have decided to make a concept-based video.
Genre: Indie/Folk
Artists: One main solo artist (man) Added extras throughout the video, both male and female.
Style: Since it is concept based, I want the artist to have casual attire. Since my video will be based on every day things, the attire will need to fit.
Performance: Since my video is concept-based, there is no performance aspect. I want the filming to be original, showing the normal day-to-day things that people would do. I think that this could be affective as it is a way that the audience can relate to the performer, as they are seing things that they would do, and may aspire to do the same things!
Since I want it to be original and authentic, I am not planning to use equipment such as lighting. I may use a tripod, to get a professional clean-cut on the filming, but I also want to take shots with a handheld camera.
Mise-en-scene: Having already spoken about the style and lighting. The setting is both in and outside. Outside locations will be places such as the streets, playground, skate park, road etc.
Props: I think that there will be few props needed. A couple of scenes may involve cars, mobile phone and a drum kit.
Weather: Since I want to film n both wet and dry weather, I will have to film different parts of the scene based on the weather. Although this is unpredictable, I feel sure that if there are any weather complications, I will be able to alter and move scenes to suit the location.
Date: Since filming is weather permitting, I do not have a set date and filming will take place over numerous days. However, I take in to account that filming will take place after 25th October 2013.
