Lastly, I analysed 'Employment' by Kaiser Chiefs.
The front of the digipak is in the style of a box or a book. The box has been designed to look old and vintage, suggesting they are a classic, well-thought of band. The yellow box on the black background makes it stand out and draws your attention to the writing.
In smaller print its says 'a box of tricks' and 'thrills for all'. This implies the great thrill people will experience from listening to this album.
The colour of the CD cover contrasts with the colours on the outside of the box, which perhaps contrasts with the dark low-key front and a more vibrant, happy and fun. It is also much more interesting to look at.
The disk is designed to look like a roulette wheel which adds to the theme of gambling that has been established by the poster of a game board. It also suggests theme of danger and risk, perhaps more appealing to some of their target audience, who are most likely mid-20 year old men.
The back of the album is also very simple. Again, it has a a very old fashioned style, with a simple and ordinary font.
Of course, it has the producers and editors name on the back, which is common for most CD's.
